Meet the team at Illume

Tim Rumney |  Clinical Director

Tim combines roles: he’s a dentist as well as the practice owner, so he focuses not just on providing clients with high quality cosmetic and restorative dentistry, but also on developing the vision to see the practice constantly evolve and improve.

This is work for more than just one, though, and he’s proud to work with a great team of people. In his spare time, Tim plays sax in a big band and is building an eccentric 3-wheel kit car for fun.

Alison Rumney |  Non-clinical Director

Alison’s main responsibility is to empower, motivate and develop the team, so making sure we provide the best possible customer service to all our clients. Her main passion is cooking, although she also enjoys travelling, practising her French and Italian, reading and listening to her husband and sons make music.

Anna Cowgill |  Business Manager

Anna’s role at the practice is unique. Anna began as a Dental Nurse and is now qualified. This gives her a great understanding of the whole business. She is currently studying for a degree in Business Management and relishes the job of turning the practice’s vision into reality. Anna enjoys travelling, photography, skiing and sailing.

Simon Hipwell |  Associate and Implant Dentist

Simon’s been qualified for 25 years and placing implants for the last 15. He combines the use of the very best products with tried and tested techniques; this means he’s able to create beautiful smiles for clients while offering the very best care. When he’s not doing this he’s as keen on listening to music and reading as he is on trying to avoid gardening.

Laurie Carlson - Hedges |  Associate Dentist

Laurie takes pleasure in providing adult orthodontics and is currently studying or a Masters degree in restorative dentistry. A member of the Royal College of Surgeons, he’s attended many advanced dentistry courses in the US and, when he’s not working, chooses between playing golf, hockey and travelling abroad.

Agnes Gradon |  Dental Hygienist

Agnes is a member of the BDHA and qualified 20 years ago. She relishes the sheer variety of clients we see, all of whom benefit from her gentle approach. Despite her wealth of clinical experience, Agnes approaches every client as an individual with feelings, not just a mouth to treat. She loves cooking and gardening.

Deborah Turner |  Client Co-ordinator

Deborah’s is the first voice or face clients hear or see when they contact us. She loves this part of the job, as well as being part of our team, meeting new people and seeing how much better clients feel about themselves after their treatment. Deborah also enjoys DIY, gardening, eating out and shopping.

Edwina Hayes |  Client Co-ordinator

Edwina feels a major part of her role is to make clients feel comfortable straight away. She congratulates the nervous on how well they’ve done just to phone and turn up, and she combines this ability to put people at their ease with a friendly efficiency. Edwina likes to travel, and also enjoys gardening, theatre, walking and eating.

Carley Warren |  Registered Dental Nurse and Clinical Co-ordinator

Carley’s been nursing for over eight years and is a qualified patient care co-ordinator, which means she can give Oral Hygiene instruction as well as discuss in-depth treatment plans with clients. She loves the interaction with such a wide variety of clients and relishes the fun she has at work. Carley also enjoys Pilates, keeping fit and shopping.

Claire Fuorvito |  Registered Dental Nurse and Implant Co-ordinator

Claire’s been a Registered Dental Nurse for 25 years and, as our Implant Co-ordinator, has six years’ Implantology experience. Because she has a caring nature and enjoys looking after clients personally as well as clinically, she gets a huge buzz from seeing a happy client leave after a course of treatment. Claire also enjoys swimming, gardening cooking, cycling, camping and spending time with her family.

Elaine Williams |  Registered Dental Nurse

Elaine’s been qualified for four years, and her naturally friendly approach is perfect for all the interaction with clients her job entails; her main role is to provide nursing for our hygienist. Elaine enjoys taking her young family swimming and going to the gym.

Clare Pollard |  Dental Nurse in training

Clare’s been with us since May 2008, both working and training. She’s studying for the National Certificate Exam for Dental Nurses and enjoying the challenge of learning new clinical skills. Clare also loves being a team member and interacting with our varied clients. She enjoys keep- fit and travelling, especially the Kenyan and South African safaris she’s been on.
